Description

Watercolour painting with a pen and ink border of the Jami Masjid in Delhi. The painting shows the courtyard of the mosque with the fountain/water tank in the centre of the courtyard in the foreground of the painting. Straight ahead of this is the façade screen of the mosque which is faced with red sandstone and white marble decorations. The façade has eleven arches, the central one larger than the remaining ten. Above the central gateway is a large white dome which is flanked on either side by two lower white domes. On the left and right of the mosque are tall minarets.
