Description

Watercolour drawing showing Hurst Castle looking south west with the Solent on the left and the Keyhaven marshes on the right. The lighthouse is situated to the right and is slightly obscured by the Shipwright's Arms. By an artist in the circle of Thomas Rowlandson. Isle of Wight Tour 1791. 'With pen and ink italic inscription 'Hurst Castle and Lighthouse' lower centre on the mount. Pencil, pen and ink and watercolour on a grey wash line mount.'
