Welaregang, NSW, Australia
Attributed name: George Henry Hutton
This drawing is an east view of St Andrew's Collegiate Church, Peebles. It is unsigned, and may be one of Hutton's own works. This is one of two views of St Andrew's Collegiate Church in the Hutton Collection, and one of several drawings made in the town of Peebles. The tower on the left-hand side of the picture is the only remaining part of St Andrew's Church. The Church dates from 1195, and gained collegiate status in 1542. The upper part of Neidpath Castle, which stands in the Tweed Valley, is visible beyond a row of houses and a ridge, just right of centre.
Collective title: Hutton Drawings > [Volume 2] > Peeblesshire
