Caleb Robert Stanley
A watercolour showing Princess Charlotte's Mausoleum in the middle ground centre with surrounding gardens. The Mausoleum, designed by JW Hiort and JB Papworth, was originally conceived as a 'Gothick' teahouse or refectory, with orange and lemon trees, and a small library. After the Princess's death in 1817 it became a mausoleum or memorial to her. Signed and dated 'C R Stanley/1843'.
