Description

Landscape with a horse on the left, driving the large drum of a coal works with a thatched building at one end, a house at the other, connected by a bridge, other buildings and a water-wheel by a bridge across a stream on the right and men loading coal into a waiting horse-drawn cart in the right foreground; hills in the background. 1798. Etching and aquatint printed in colour, with additional hand-colouring.

Inscription: Lettered below the image with the title and 'Drawn & Engraved by J. Hassell / London Pub. Feb. 28, 1798, by F. Jukes, Howland Street.'
