Scope and content: Subject depicts a chaotic city street; numerous figures fleeing; some figures in l.r. and c. are holding a hose and carrying ladders; upper margin there are many commercial signs. Condition: tears and scraping, notably in the l.l. To accompany this work, there is a small envelope with scraps taken from the back of the frame -- inscriptions on these bits of paper are very difficult to distinguish
