Battle of Cherbourg Battleground, English Channel
John Christian Schetky
A view of the bay from the sea, with several boats, and hills in the distance. On her voyage around the west coast of Britain in 1847, Queen Victoria landed for half an hour at 'the town of Douglas, very prettily situated with a picturesque Castle near the Light-house' (Journal, 16 August 1847).
