Description

The rear view of the farmhouse building of Stapleton Hall in Stroud Green, Hornsey. The house has a red-tiled roof, a weathervane and the back wall is covered in a creeper. A gentleman talks to a labourer in the yard and lane behind the house, with chickens and a dog nearby. Stapleton Hall had an 80 acre farm until the mid-19th century, when the area of Stroud Green began to be developed for housing.
