Havell. - Publish'd by Robinson & Son, Leeds, Oct.1, 1813. - Aquatint, hand-col.; image 20x29.6cm, sheet 25 x 35.2cm. - Plate 11 from: The Costume of Yorkshire, 1814. - Plough stots is performed on Plough Monday, in January at the start of the agricultural year. The ploughmen dress in character and go through their village dragging the plough and acting the fool, a custom still practiced in Goathland, North Yorkshire (2000).
