Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX1494. In his 'Flora Indica' Roxburgh describes this species as a shrub with thin branches, which does not appear to be cultivated for its wool. The illustration is wrongly inscribed 1496 'Gossypium rubicundum Roxb.' Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.3, p.183.
