Description

Mounted on page 48 of H.J. Moule "In France 1856". Sea in foreground upon which are three sailing boats. One boat has three sails up, another has three sails furled and the third is being rowed ashore by a lone rower. The harbour wall cuts across the centre of the image. There are houses on the right and entrances to locks. Beyond the harbour wall is a small building with a pointed roof. Further, larger buildings including a church are visible in the background. An adult and a child are standing on the lock gates to the right of the image. Inscriptions: [on mount bottom left] "Fecamp. From the North".
