Description
Howqua (the second) (1769-1843) was a Chinese merchant and businessman who was extremely successful, amassing a fortune through his trade with Western countries which made him one of the richest men in the world in his lifetime. Howqua was the senior of the Hong merchants in Canton, one of the few authorized to trade silk and porcelain with foreigners.
