Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX1627. In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh describes this species as an erect shrub, native of Nepal. Roxburgh also notes that this species was introduced, from Nepal into the Botanical garden at Calcutta, by Dr Buchanan in 1802. Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.3, p.381.
