Description

Inscription reads: Kalabshe.
The Temple of Kalabsha is a Roman Period temple to the sun god Mandulis. Beginning in 1970, the temple was cut into 13,000 blocks and moved to its present location on the promontory of New Kalabsha so as to protect it from rising waters on Lake Nasser brought on by the creation of the Aswan High Dam.
