Brazillian men and women gathered around a market stall, with baskets of fruit and chickens, a woman sitting at right smoking a long pipe, another standing beside with a tray of ceramic goods on her head, church behind; after Lieutenant Chamberlain, illustration from 'Views and Costumes of the City and Neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro' (Published 1822). 1821. Hand-coloured aquatint and etching.
