Description

ROX93. In his 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh describes this species as a very common shrub, '...found in every jungle all over the coast [Coromandel?].' It flowers around the beginning of the hot season. Roxburgh also notes that the fruit of this species is eaten by the natives, and that the leaves are used in the dyes of Coromandel. Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.2, p.260.
