Description

Part of the 57th Regiment's camp in the Crimea, with army tents and Warre's more substantial wooden hut with two or three rooms, possibly including a kitchen. Two men stand in the foreground, one a uniformed soldier, the other a civilian.

Cathcart's Hill was a position before the battle of Sevastopol, named after General Cathcart
