On 2 September 1846, Queen Victoria sailed from Osborne House to Jersey with her husband, Prince Albert and some of their children. The Royal family anchored off the island until 5 September 1846. In her journal entry of 3 September 1846, Queen Victoria describes how she and Prince Albert "both sketched [from the Royal Yacht] & Albert did a beautiful sketch of Norman Point".
