A watercolour showing a view of Norman Point, Jersey. The sea is shown in the foreground, with the Jersey coast shown behind. A tower, probably a fort is shown on an outcrop to the left. Inscribed below mounted sheet: Norman Point. Jersey. - VR del on board the V. & A. Sept: 3. 1846. On 2 September 1846, Queen Victoria sailed from Osborne House to Jersey with her husband, Prince Albert and some of their children. The Royal family anchored off the island until 5 September 1846. In her journal entry of 3 September 1846, Queen Victoria describes how she and Prince Albert "both sketched [from the Royal Yacht] & Albert did a beautiful sketch of Norman Point".
