A watercolour showing two female figures ice skating or walking over snow. Both figures are shown full-length and walking or skating to the left. They are carrying an animal, possibly a dog between them. Buildings can be seen in the distance.
Inscribed lower right: Ottawa
Hilda Montalba was one of four artistic sisters who were all friends with Princess Louise. Hilda and her sister, Clara, visited the princess in Canada in 1879.
