Description

View of a suspended bridge crossing a valley in Fribourg; a city wall extends down the left hand slope to the river which travels under the bridge, and on which is a rowing boat; to the left of the river is a field on which are cows, haymakers and fishermen; behind this is a building, from which extends a path on the left: a crowd of people led by monk walk along it; on the left is a crucifix and on the hill in the distance is a cross. Etching and aquatint with hand-colouring.
