Description

Inscription: "Port Baltic in the Gulf of Finland" and "On Board June 1825". Album: From a sketchbook entitled "Sketches abroad in 1825". Additional MS note: "1885 If the things sketched are as much changed as the sketcher, they would hardly be recognised!!!". Contains sketches, some coloured, of landscapes, people, and buildings in various countries: Russia, Scandinavia, Poland, and Italy. Ms. captions are in English, suggesting a British artist.
