Drawing showing the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, visiting the pyramids during his tour of the east in 1862. The drawing shows the Prince seated on a dromedary at the centre of the picture with other men, both mounted and on foot, around him. Pyramids and tents are visible behind the group. This drawing is the basis of a woodcut engraving which was published in the Illustrated London News in 1862. Several sketches by Frederick George were published in the Illustrated London News in 1862, documenting different aspects of the Prince's tour.
