A marine scene depicting a view of Cap Diamant and buildings of Lower Town Québec from the St. Lawrence River. At the left foreground an unmasted vessel with oars and three seated figures approaches a floating timber dock carrying [logs]. In the middle ground is a manned sailing vessel with one fore and aft and one square-rigged sail. In the distance are the curtain walls of the battlements atop Cap Diamant. At the bottom of the promontory are several square-rigged sailing vessels with sails furled moored alongside the shore.
