Description
A landscape with a knoll, upon which are the remains of Guildford Castle situated in the center of the image. The knoll is surrounded by a modest fence which curves tightly around the knoll. On a path in front of the fence is a pair of tourists or travelers engaged in conversation: one on the left with a cane and a hooded red traveler's cloak and the other a man in a white flowing blouse and black hat. The scene is framed by two large trees on the far right in the immediate foreground which emerge from outside the frame and a lone and smaller tree of the same species on the far left on the same plane as the two figures.
