Thomas and William Daniell reportedly saw an Indian rhinoceros in the hills near 'Coaduwar Gaut, Rohilcund' (now Kotdwara). They worked in the Indian subcontinent from 1785 to 1794 and later worked up their sketches into detailed prints.
