Caption: "The ruins of the Episcopal Palace of St Davids built by Bishop Gower in the early part of the 14th century the gothic parapets are of singular construction with open arches supported by octagon columns & ornamented capitals. The same are met with at Llamphey Court in Pembrokeshire & at Swansea Castle in Glamorganshire & no where else"
