Description

The entrance to the library of Rochester Cathedral; elaborately sculpted gothic doorway with statues in the surround of Henry I, queen Matilda, and others. Pen and grey ink and grey wash and watercolour, over graphite; the recess of the inner doorway is drawn on a separate piece of paper, attached and hinged to the rest of the drawing, underneath this is a drawing of the contemporary doorway.
