Description

Nightjar (caprimulgus macrodipterus) and longhorn beetle (cerambyx fragrans); a nightjar in the centre, with long wings and extra feathers at the end of the wings, flying down to eat a longhorn beetle below which also flies down. 1798. Hand-coloured etching.
