A pastoral scene; a gentle slope of grass, with trees on either side, up which cows and sheep are moving away, in the right foreground the young herdsman is talking to a milkmaid, who sits on a fallen tree, while his dog drinks at a pool towards the left. Watercolour, strengthened with gum, with pen and grey ink.
