Description

Sacrifice in the temple in Jerusalem, study for vignette on p. 117 of F N Chabuy's 'Abrègè Chronologique de l'Histoire des Juifs. ', Paris, 1759; altar in centre with worshippers on left and priests on right, temple beyond. c.1759. Black chalk over touches of red, incised, mounted on larger sheet of cream paper, with gold and green watercolour border.
