Description

York from St. George's Close; a long view of the city from without the walls, buildings included the spire of St. Martin's Micklegate, Spire of All Saints', the Council Chamber, St. Olave's, St. Martin's Coney Street, St. Michael's, York Castle, the Minster, and others, with undulating fields in the foreground, and a man and woman standing together on the right. c.1675. Pen and grey and brown ink, with grey wash; on two conjoined sheets.
