Description

Watercolour by Henry William Moule, the first of two watercolours mounted on page 125 of H.J. Moule "Dorset Vol.5". Front elevation of a row of three thatched cottages and a farmyard with chickens. The largest cottage (presumably Bayouse) has a stone arched doorway and mullioned windows. Painted by Henry William Moule, the son of George Evans Moule (& H.J. Moule's nephew). Inscriptions: [on image bottom left] "Aug.29.1894" / [on mount bottom left] "Bayouse. Upwey" / [on mount bottom right] "By H.W. Moule".
