Description

A view of the Chandpal Ghat.' The Chandpal Ghat is now a ferry Ghat on the west bank of the river Hooghly near the High Court in Calcutta. Incidentally, this Ghat took its name not from an noble Indian, but from an obscure and forgotten local shopkeeper Chandranath Pal or Chand Pal who used to sell his petty merchandise beside the Ghat.
