Description

A view of Clew Bay, Co. Mayo, with Croagh Patrick and Clare Island visible in the distance. Two men stand on the shore looking towards the distant island and mountain. A lone boat is anchored on the water.

Additional Description: A copy of the original watercolour which Beranger painted in July 1779 while staying in Westport House with Earl of Altamont during the course of a two-month-long antiquarian sketching tour of Connacht.
