View of the Chamonix Valley running horizontally across the composition; a town on the valley floor through which flows a river, either side of which are fields and patches of forest; in the centre foreground is a road with a log on which two figures with baskets sit, another figure standing beside them; a tree stump in the left foreground; forest either side of the foreground road; a glacier descends from the mountains on the far right, another smaller one on the left; a chain of snowy peaks in the background. Etching with hand-colouring.
