Portrait of R W Hay after Slater, vignette, half-length directed to left, almost in profile, wearing ruffled cravat. published 1864, the plate earlier. Lithograph on brown paper with hand-colouring.

Unlettered, inscribed below in pencil: "J. S. Cotman/by Mrs Dawson Turner, taken when Cotman wasa young man, the only copy of this I have seen - J.R." crossed through and replaced with note: "The Grillion Club Portrait" of R.W. Hay, after Slater/anon"
