Description

Inscribed: "1pm, Left Faldeine 28 July 8am, Fair morning after many days heavy rain. Splendid drive to Grondaas, 12 o'clock rested horses an hour, lunched at pretty little Norwegian hotel - Raftevold. Mr Price and Wille fished in Hornindalsvand, but caught nothing".
This watercolour/drawing forms part of a small black leather pocket sized sketchbook with retaining strap. There are 64 pages, several are blank. Inside the first page is the description ‘First visit to Norway July & August 1890’. The pencil sketches are in the form of an illustrated diary.
