Initialled and dated. Inscriptions on mount: "The Backwater, Weatherb'y, Wessex" and "Piddletown now destroyed. The "Cat" Masons Arms at far end". [Wetherby or Weatherbury is the name given to Puddletown in Thomas Hardy's "Wessex Novels"].
