Description

Image depicting a mountain road winding along a sharp ravine. A tall coniferous tree grows out of the side of the road in the foreground. A small house is perched dangerously close to the edge in the middleground.
Mont Cenis is located in the Alps near the French-Italian border.
The dating of this work is based on the publication date of Cockburn's "Views to Illustrate the Route of Mont Cenis" (London, 1822)
