Description

An Indian hunting buffalo, possibly after Bierstadt painting 'The Last of the Buffalo' (Corcoran Gallery, Washington DC); with skeletal remains strewn on grass, an Indian on horseback and buffalo in combat, beyond at right group of Indians on horseback galloping towards herd on bank of river, with hills, some snowcapped in the distance. Watercolour, with bodycolour, over a lithograph or photograph (?).
