Description

Austria, 18th-19th centuries. The Church of Heiligenstadt in the surroundings of Vienna. It was in this town that Ludwig van Beethoven wrote the letter known as the Heiligenstadt Testament. The "Heiligenstädter Testament" was written in 1802 – the letter to his two brothers which he never sent and in which he expressed his despair over his advancing deafness.
