Description
Bed with huge red canopy dominating room against back wall with chandelier hanging in centre, the surrounding wall and the ceiling painted in a trompe l'oeil design with a mass of figures in clouds, fireplace at left with a row of porcelain on the mantelpiece, two figures standing beside before a screen in the far left corner of the room, the walls adorned with portraits; after Rev. Richard Cattermole, illustration to Pyne's 'the History of the Royal Residences', published in 1819 in three volumes. 1816. Hand-coloured etching and aquatint.
