Description

Shows a view along Victoria Avenue, Wanganui, looking across to St Peter's Church in the centre. It is a basilica plan church with a square castellated belltower. There is another related church building at the far right, partly obscured behind a large weeping willow tree. A two-horse open carriage comes along the street from the left, and at the far left a boy and girl walk away along the footpath. There is a horse-drawn cart in the middle left background, and other town buildings in the left background, including two other church buildings with spires.
