Description

Inscribed on old label verso 'The 'Ale House on a Heath' of the Induction to 'The Taming of the Shrew'. This is situated at Wincot, about three miles from Stratford-on-Avon and was originally held by the Hackets, of whom 'Marian Hacket, the fat ale-wife of Wincot' was one. It is now used as a farm-house' inscribed on another old label 'Title: Large Size/ No. 3163/ No. 1760'.
