Description

View of the side elevation of the catafalque designed by Brenna for the burial of Catherine the Great of Russia and her husband Tsar Peter III (died 1762) held in the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul in November 1796. Medium: pen and gray-black ink, brush and watercolor, over traces of graphite or leadpoint.
