Additional Makers: After - James Peachey (d.1797)
After a watercolour by James Peachey which is illustrated in J. Ross Robertson, The History of Freemasory in Canada, Toronto, 1899, v. 1, p. 284. The same watercolour, apparently, is illustrated in 1776 The British Story of the American Revolution, [an exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich], London, Times Books, 1976, pp. 218-219, catalogue no. 584.
Inscribed in pen & ink over blue pencil l.l.: James Peachey 1785; b.: Encampment of the Loyalists at Johnstown, on the Banks of the River St. Laurence in Canada, taken June 6th. 1784
Medium: Watercolour and pen & ink over blue pencil with ruled border of pen & ink and grey wash.
