Caption: "The ruins of Raglan castle showing the southern and principal entance into the inner area of the castle through an arched portal, flanked with two elegant and mafsy towers with the western detached octagon towers this castle is not of early foundation and supposed to have been built not much before the reign of Henry 5th. Parts in their architecture mark the period of Queen Elizabeth. The ruins indicate a residence of elegance and maginicence. Monmouthshire"
