Description

Watercolour illustration commissioned by William Roxburgh. ROX930. In 'Flora Indica', Roxburgh notes that this species is found in the swamps near the shores of India, and thrives in the richer soil of the Botanic garden at Calcutta. He comments on the unusually soft, spongy and white wood of this species. This unnumbered drawing has been annotated by Roxburgh 'Cerbera Odallum Gaert'. Roxburgh, 'Flora Indica' (1832) v.1, p.692.
