Inscribed below: View from my sitting room Window at Osborne. Inscribed lower right: VR del Aug: 24. 1848. A double pen and ink line border is shown around the edge of the mounted sheet. In her journal entry of 24 August 1848, Queen Victoria describes how she had "A lesson from [her drawing master William Leighton] Leitch" while staying at Osborne House.
