The Opera Box; interior of a box, with young lady seated left, holding bouquet of flowers, on the right, another lady looking over her shoulder at a gentleman standing behind, beyond, the opposite boxes with fashionable people, on stage, the premiere danseuse with arms raised above her head, unnoticed by anyone. 1838. Watercolour, touched with white, strengthened with gum (?).
